Rushing out a proposal?

Running late for a meeting?

Working OT to complete a presentation deck?

Try the 4-Ds principle: Delete, Defer, Delegate, Do

Delete — Focus on emails that matter to increase your productivity, those that don’t matter simply delete them.

Delegate — We all know that we are the best at everything and we can do everything the best! But if its not your responsibility nor necessary for you to be involved, delegate it to others.

Do — If its your responsibility, you have the time to do it and need to do it; JUST GET IT DONE THEN AND THERE! Postponing this is the worst possible thing to do, which will lead to last minute tasks.

Defer — We all have a personal life on top of work. If something personal in nature comes in during office hrs and its not a priority then and there, defer it to the end of the day (after work or during your free time — lunch break etc.)

There you have it, simple and straightforward principles you can implement TODAY!
